HIKING THE OUTER VALLEY
The CONDOR 300 is a great place to hike. On most days--but not the one on which this picture was made--it offers vast views to the east, north and west. The hiking is moderate to strenuous, and a comprehensive hike can be as little as two hours, or it can be for most of the day. It can stay on established trails, or it can be rough. Poison oak is present, but avoidable.
Not open to the public, a group can nevertheless make an appointment for an accompanied hike. The five |
women and four dogs in this photo made a very good hike in February, 2021, in low clouds and brisk wind. It's always good there, no matter what the weather. The hikers here are (l-r) Don Gruber, Elizabeth Carlson, Jane Williams, Mary Adams, Chris Zimmerman and Diane Ausonio, and the four dogs are Lucy, Max, Tanner and Bella. Photo by Mary Adams.
